This page is an adjunct to Early Modern Literary Studies (EMLS). Like the journal, Interactive EMLS serves as an arena for scholarly discussion and as an academic resource for researchers in sixteenth and seventeenth century English literature, literary culture, and language. Whereas EMLS presents a refereed journal for finished articles, this service is a moderated repository where people can deposit material for commentary, find resources for research, and can exchange ideas and information. Before submitting material to any of the sections below, please read the guidelines for submitting material. If you have ideas for conferences which might be publicized through iEMLS, would like space to promote other academic projects, or have any other ideas or queries please contact Paul Dyck at Paul.Dyck@UAlberta.ca or Jennifer Lewin at Jennifer.Lewin@Yale.edu.

Resources: The Resources section provides information to aid researchers of early modern literature. Subject bibliographies, guides to research libraries and materials, tables of contents of journals and books, and other material are included.

Conference Materials: The Conference Materials section provides information about up-coming conferences on early modern literature. As well as calls for papers, conference announcements, abstracts and programmes, this section contains session papers and proceedings.

Current Work: The Current Work section allows authors to solicit comments from readers on articles, chapters of books, or other work which is either "in progress" or has been accepted elsewhere for publication. Comments can be e-mailed direct to the author through iEMLS's mail service.

Virtual Seminars: The Virtual Seminars section houses electronic seminars on subjects related to the literature in English of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. Each seminar is led by its own moderator. Participants access the seminar's reading material through iEMLS, which also posts transcripts of the discussions on a regular basis.
