Papers on a wide variety of topics related to the theme of Poetry and History are welcome. Abstracts of around 200-300 words should be submitted by 1 December 1995 to Glennis Stephenson, Conference Organiser, Dept. of English Studies, University of Stirling, Stirling, Scotland FK9 4LA. Special Guest: Seamus Heaney

The town of Stirling, gateway to the Highlands, is rich in historic associations; local sites of interest include Stirling castle and the Wallace monument. Situated on the fringe of the Trossachs, Stirling is also within reach of such historic sites as Bannockburn, Sheriffmuir, and Castle Campbell.
