Early Modern Print/Royal Authority
October 22-25, 1998, Toronto, Ontario.
This session seeks to refine New Historicist narratives about royal authority in early modern England by focusing on links between Monarchs and print in the period. Of particular interest are (1) Papers that examine literary/dramatic representations of royal authority in the context of
historical data about relations between the crown and the printing house; (2) Papers that examine a specific monarch's use of print; or (3) Papers that examine the official activities of specific printers/publishers designated as "King's Printer."Send 500 word abstracts by February 20.
